Tree Planting

Tree planting

The importance of trees cannot be overemphasized. Promulgating tree planting activities within the cities and in schools in particular is a perfect way to educate and help connect the students to the benefits of trees and fostering environmental stewardship. We believe it is fundamental to engage children from their tender ages through various educational institutions as key actors in the promotion of sustainable development practices.

Planting trees is one of the hands-on learning activities promoted by Game Changers to provide an opportunity to learn more about the needs of trees, how they grow and the benefits they provide to humans and the environment. Some of the tree planting activities we carried out include:

  • 25 tress planted at Ecole Public Bastos in collaboration with the Italian Embassy
  • 10 trees planted at Kamza Bilingual College Ahala
  • 200 trees planted around Central Lac in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank

Objectives

The main objective of the tree planting activities carried out was to establish the role of schools in the implementation of concrete actions that enhance the protection and restoration of our environment. Other objectives being to:

– Provide a learning opportunity which actively involves kids in the protection and conservation of our natural resources.

– Help increase the tree cover in schools

– Foster environmental stewardship in students who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

– Engage schools as partners in the implementation of future environmental activities.
